HISTORY
Our Household History & Ideals

Castillo Solaz came together in the year 1996 when several couples and friends and their children decided to begin camping together at SCA events. All had a strong inclination towards service and as such we all banded together to serve and support each other as well as our local geo-political units. Our name was derived from the historical geography of the founding personas, thus the Spanish Castillo [Castle] and the ancient French Solaz [Solace] were married and the heart was placed in Miguel's place name "de los Rios", a fictional valley serviced by a river where trade could be conducted located in ancient Iberia before the formation of Spain.

Our motto: Castillo Solaz, En Servicio a Todos "Castle Solace, In Service to All" followed and was adopted quickly. The Ideals that we all strive to uphold are as follows:

All our members will support each other in our celebration of life and history, through friendship and service to our Household, Barony, Kingdom and Society.
