Greetings Great Western War IV Merchant,
Thank you for your interest in participating as a merchant
in this year's Great Western War. The 4th Great Western War will
be held beginning Wednesday, October 4th, 2000 and ending Monday,
October 9th, 2000. Once again this event will take place at Prado
Regional Park, located in Chino, California. The site is a beautiful
park set amid lush grass, fields and forest, all beside the recreational
lake. The Merchant Village will be centrally located with the
lake on one side, the battlefield on another, and the central
camping area on the remaining edges. I'm sure you will find this
year's event exciting as well as profitable.
Registration Fees
Because of the popularity of this event, pre-registration
is required. All completed Merchant registrations packages and
fees must be received (postmarked by) September 15th, 2000.
Events Fees are as follows:
· General Merchant $ 80.00 per booth
· Food Merchant $130.00 per booth
Included with each completed and processed registration is:
· A listing on the GWW "Merchant Village News"
web page, including your email address;
· A confidential Merchant Confirmation Number (allowing
you to utilize site rental options);
· Gate Entry for two (2) persons per merchant;
· A listing in the event Merchant Handbook;
· Participation in the "Saturday Night Madness"
Sale;
· One sentence describing your discount or "hook"
tie-in with the "Saturday Night Madness" Sale;
· A 20' wide by 25' deep plot for your pavilion or an
8' x 8' space in the Grand Shopping Bazaar;
· One Merchant Parking Permit - Allowing your vehicle
access to the Merchant Village parking lot.
Rental Options
Once again, we'll have pavilions, tables and chairs available
for rent only for those merchants who have pre-registered. Note:
You will be unable to rent without a confirmation number issued
by the Merchant Autocrat Team.
Merchant Camping
Two Merchant only camping areas are being reserved at
the far south end of the Merchant Village. Camping is on a first
come first serve basis. Please note that these areas will be
dry grass in nature. Please let the Merchant Autocrat Team know
if you plan on camping in these areas. Vehicles will be allowed
in these areas for the purpose of unloading you camping gear
only.
Fast Check-in
You will receive a confirmation number and merchant access
pass in the mail prior to the event. This pass will allow you
and your pre-registered entourage to spend only a few minutes
at the gate. You'll be directed to the Merchant Check-in point
for a guided walk to your Merchant Booth site. Please note that
if any additional non pre-registered individuals are accompanying
you, then you will be held up at the gate until their paperwork
is complete and fees are paid, no exceptions!
Parking
The parking lot is shortened this year to make a "protected"
roadway/path between the two merchant areas. The path or road
will be cleared of surface gravel for the event. As such parking
is going to be at a premium. We will allow only one vehicle per
merchant in the parking lot. Additional parking will be available
in the lower parking lot. We encourage all merchants to put their
second and third vehicles in the main parking lot so that we
have room for everyone. The merchants parking area will be monitored
and if all works out, gated.
Deliveries
The Merchant Autocrat Team will NOT be accepting
UPS or other ground deliveries of your merchandise at the event
this year. If you wish to arrange a delivery, you must be on-site
to receive it. Any delivery for persons not on site will be refused.
Please let the Merchant Autocrat Team know if you plan on utilizing
a delivery service when you arrive on site.
Weather
Please be prepared for windy conditions this year. If
rain becomes a possibility, we will reorganize the Merchant Village
to keep all merchants booths as dry as possible. We'll try to
inform you of any changes to the best of our ability, should
any of our contingency plans have to go into effect.

on.
The Merchant Handbook
We are continuing with the publication of this well received
handbook. Your business name, product offerings and contact information
are automatically included with your paid and processed registration.
New for this year will be the inclusion of a sentence detailing
what your participation discount will be for our famous "Saturday
Night Madness Sale"

This year, we are publishing this "online" newsletter
for all GWW web-site visitors to read. It will detail the status
of Merchanting at this years GWW. Your business name, product
offerings and contact information are automatically included
with your paid and processed registration. We'll also include
your sentence citing your participation discount at "Saturday
Night Madness Sale"
The Saturday Night Madness Sale
The Saturday Night Madness Sale does not require you to stay
open until Midnight as the previous name of this popular event
suggested. We will advertise that this event will begin at 7:00pm
and continue until "all are exhausted". New for this
year will be the inclusion of a sentence in the Merchant Handbook
detailing what your participation discount will be for this event.
Note: If you chose not to participate in the sale, your sentence
will not be printed.
The "Test" Shopping War Point
When you pick-up your site package this year, you'll find we
have included raffle tickets for you to give out with each sale.
The purpose of this promotion is to encourage event attendees
to drop these tickets in their participating organization's canister
thus registering their purchase as a vote! The Shopping War Point
is only a promotion, however it will receive some event and court
play. We believe your participation in this promotion will also
generate return visits as customers get into the spirit of the
play. In order to encourage customers to vote, we'll provide
clear canisters for the tickets to be dropped into thus allowing
all to gauge how their organization stands. We may also hold
a raffle to encourage participation. Additional tickets will
be available for your business from the Merchant Coordination
point.
